September 8th 2007 Man! What a day! I was sleeping upstairs on an air mattress next to my buddy Sam, when Chelsi came in to tell me it was time to wake up. I had planned so much for this day and so everything was going to work out perfect. I was still really tired from the night before. I stayed up talking with Sam for quite some time and I think I had stayed up even later the night before. As we headed out the door I grabbed a small pancake to stuff in my mouth. We arrived at the temple the usher looked over our recommends and we were seated on a couch to wait. Then a lady temple worker finally came to get us and the first thing she asked was " do you have your marriage license" That will be a moment I will never forget as all the blood from my head sank to my stomach and my heart stopped beating. Right then I could picture the folder that the license was in lying on my bed. We couldn’t start without it. My first impression was to call president Ratledge. You see we live a good hour and a half away from the temple. We had to be there at 8am and everyone else at 9am and so I figured everyone was already on their way. Fortunately President Ratledge hadn’t left yet. Now we had to get him into the apartment. I didn’t have the number to the apartment complex, but Chelsi had a key ring with a heart on it that had the number. So that was like blessing number 2. We were able to get in touch with the apartment complex and they sent someone over to let President Ratledge in. He faxed over the license and headed up to the temple with it. All in all we got married about 4 or 5 hrs later. But now that left things more challenging for our photographer because he was also taking pictures for the couple getting married after us. Needless to say it all worked ou,t but I was still hoping to get out of the temple early enough so that the sun wasn’t in our eyes like it was. But that doesn’t matter. We got married and that’s what matters. By the time I finally got into the ceiling room my mind was still cluttered I still felt horrible. But when Chelsi finally entered the room in her wedding dress I was able to feel like nothing else could go wrong. We could get married now and nothing was going to stop us. Not even my feeble mind.
We had a great turn out at the reception. And of course a great evening hahaha. And the next day we headed down to Florida. We started having car trouble and so I got it into a Toyota shop and continued on our trip in a Toyota Rav 4. That was a nice ride and we got a good deal on it too. They were all out of Sadans and so we got the S.U.V. for the same price as the sadan. We stopped at sea world. That was awesome. I want to be a dolphin trainer now and I’m sure every kid that goes there does too and thanx to the military we got in free. We got to feed and touch dolphins and we touched stingrays. The rest of the week we spent in key west Florida going snorkeling, water skinning, building sand castles, feeding fries to seagulls, parasailing, going on a biplane ride around the island. and shopped. Chelsi and I agree that sea world is better. but it was a good experience and incase your wondering. The water in Florida really isn’t that clear. ~ Marriage is a better way of life:)
